Corporate and Group Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering for the Environmental Volunteers is a great way to develop team-building skills, camaradarie, and have fun! Spend a couple of hours or an entire day making a difference in our community.

Volunteer in the morning and then enjoy your lunch at the picnic tables near the Park Ranger Station or in the EcoCenter. You can pay to have your lunch catered or your team can bring sack lunches. The Enviromental Volunteers would be pleased to work with your caterer or lunch delivery service. The EcoCenter has a refrigerator that can be used for food trays and ice.

Small or Large Groups

The Environmental Volunteers can accommodate groups of up to 25 people. We may be able to accommodate larger groups, on request.

I had a rewarding experience and would definitely recommend volunteering for the Environmental Volunteers. Nothing beats helping nature out while getting some fresh air, working in beautiful scenery, and watching unique birds fly by. Got to learn about different species of animals as well and had a nice workout, a win-win!

Baylands Beautification

Help keep the landscape beautiful and habitable for the incredible diversity of wildlife in the Baylands! Volunteers remove invasive plants, mulch soil, care for native plants, and landscape around the Environmental Volunteers' EcoCenter in the Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve.

Volunteers should dress appropriately for gardening in the sun. The Baylands can be windy and cool, so dressing in layers is recommended. Gloves and gardening tools will be provided for you to use.

School Programs Teaching Kit Repair

Did you know that our volunteers utilize more than 60 teaching kits to provide engaging and fun hands-on environmental science activities in nine subject areas in the classroom and on field trips to 10,000 students each year? To keep our kits in tip-top shape, volunteers check the contents of each kit, replace used items, and swap older components with updated ones.

Volunteers work inside the EcoCenter at tables (seated or standing).

For more information on volunteering as a corporate or community group, contact Donalda Watson-Walkinshaw, Development Director, at (650) 493-8000 ext. 334 or Donalda@EVols.org.

Hold Your Meeting at the EcoCenter

After you visit the Baylands, tour the EcoCenter, and volunteer, we know you will want to come back! Why not rent meeting space in the EcoCenter for your next meeting? Fenwick Hall comfortably seats 50 without tables. We'll help set up your equipment. Contact Arlene Mitchell, Adminstration and Data Manager at (650) 493-8000 ext. 335 or Arlene@EVols.org for pricing and availability - and to book your best meeting ever!
