Nature & Science Programs – Engaging Bay Area Kids since 1972

The Environmental Volunteers offers a variety of fun and educational learning programs to support environmental education in schools and in the community. Each of our programs supports the organization's mission and philosophy.  In addition, we have outlined 6 principals of sustainability which are incorporated throughout our programs, and all of our school programs also support teachers by aligning with the California State Educational Standards.

We also work with many partner organizations to reinforce our mission and alignment with education standards. Our partner collaborations and Website (SciencebyNature.org) bring a continuum of environmental science education to our students.

Why We Are Passionate About Collaboration

School Programs

Our school programs support the work of K-8 teachers in San Mateo and Santa Clara county schools. Each program consists of multiple hands-on learning activities brought directly to the classroom. Teachers may also request a follow-up field trip to reinforce the classroom lessons. All of our school programs are provided by a dedicated team of trained volunteers.

Summer Programs

We offer two exciting summer programs: S.N.A.K.E. (Science & Nature Adventures for Kid Explorers) Camp for elementary school children (Grades 1-5), and EXPLORE! for middle school students (Grades 6-8).

Learning Resources

Here you can find a variety of resources for teachers, educators, parents and community members including web links, and articles about environmental topics.
