S.N.A.K.E. Camp (entering grades 1-5)

S.N.A.K.E. campers discover the natural world through engaging hands-on activities and exciting field trips related to 5 weekly themes.

SESSION INFO:

Session 1: June 21-25   Build It!

Spend a week learning about all kinds of structures: bridges, forts, sandcastles and more!  Build a structure and see how it stands up to an earthquake.  Build a contraption out of recycled materials.  If you like to put things together—or take them apart—this week is for you!

Session 2: June 28-July 2  Animal, Vegetable, Mineral.

A sampling of the best things on Earth! We’ll meet some animals and learn all about them, go berry picking and find out cool stuff about plants, and even explore a cave and go rock climbing.

Session 3: July 5-9  Wet, wet, wet!

This week is all about water.  We’ll play with water, learn about things that live in water and things that float on the water, and of course, go swimming!

Session 4: July 12-16   Nature Detectives.

Follow clues to discover hidden treasure!  We’ll have treasure hunts, follow animal tracks, and go on a geocaching expedition with real GPS units.

Session 5: July 19-23  Take Flight!

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a SNAKE Camper!  Join us as we learn about things that fly: birds, airplanes, kites, gliders, and even lucky SNAKE Campers.  We’re hoping to include a day of safe indoor skydiving at iFly SF Bay so SNAKE Campers can learn to fly.

Daily schedules will include activities and/or field trips, crafts, games, snacks and plenty of time for free play.
