Volunteer Overview

Volunteers are the heart of the Environmental Volunteers. Through their dedication, bay area students learn about the splendor and complexity of our shared environment.

In the classroom we work with small groups of children and involve them in hands-on, discovery-based learning. Using our innovative teaching materials we teach children about Bay Area environments.

Some classes also go on field trips to explore local ecosystems as we reinforce concepts introduced in the classroom.

We have additional volunteer opportunities including staffing the Baylands Interpretive Center on the weekends or helping with office work and volunteer recruitment.

The Kids Need You

Last year we taught over 10,000 local school children, in grades K-6. Yet, every year, we have to say no to hundreds more. Help us say yes to kids on our waiting list!
