What Works in Environmental Education
Why We Are Passionate About CollaborationExecutive Summary
The EV retained the services of LFA & Associates, an independent consulting firm, to track and evaluate its coordinated science education programs. The evaluation results are stunning and show significant increases in student learning.
The proportion of students scoring higher on follow-up tests ranges from 48% to 97%, with average improvement per grade at 76%! Data shows that fourth and fifth grade students hold positive attitudes about environmental stewardship and results suggest that students in all grades have retained information over time.
The study concluded that students are “receiving an expansive high quality science education that would not otherwise have been available to them.” The study also provided an evaluation matrix to assist education organizations in being more effective."
