Thank you for your interest in serving with us! Volunteering for the Environmental Volunteers is a great way to develop team-building skills, camaraderie, and have fun! Spend a couple of hours or an entire day making a difference in our community.
Help keep the landscape beautiful and habitable for the incredible diversity of wildlife in the Baylands! Volunteers remove invasive plants, mulch soil, care for native plants, and landscape around the Environmental Volunteers’ EcoCenter in the Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve.
Volunteers should dress appropriately for gardening outdoors. The Baylands can be windy and cool, so dressing in layers is recommended. Gloves and gardening tools will be provided.
School Programs Teaching Kit Repair
Did you know that our volunteers utilize more than 80 teaching kits to provide engaging and fun hands-on environmental science activities in nine subject areas in the classroom and on field trips to 10,000 students each year? To keep our kits in tip-top shape, volunteers check the contents of each kit, replace used items, and swap older components with updated ones.
Volunteers work inside the EcoCenter at tables (seated or standing).
